The Saudi Rogue State
The one country in the world that is farthest removed from Western values is a close ally of the West. What more do we have to say to reveal the hypocrisy? Saudi Arabia is entirely governed by one ruling family, women have no rights and religious police patrol the streets. Not even North-Korea is in such a plight and Iran, the rogue state, is a liberal democracy in comparison.
True, sometimes we hear about Saudi Arabia and grotesque stories do trickle in, but it doesn’t seem to be getting through to the public consciousness. People should scream about massive oppression and violations of human rights, shouldn’t they, just like they do against other countries. Big campaigns should be organized against the regime, but that is not happening because it’s not in the strategic interest of the West.
Western values are only brought forth when it is advantageous in the international power game. What kind of values is that?

Or we could attempt to live in these whitewashed rogue, grotesque third world areas first, and then speak up for the oppressed nation after we have witnessed firsthand, these horrid violations of the rights of humankind in those regions…perhaps then we’d have a better picture of what and who exactly we’re defending.
Just a thought…there IS a mixture of good and bad in every place, maybe don’t judge the practices, religion and people of a place until you’ve given them an honest and fair chance😊 Dictating anyone’s supposed situation and solutions for supposed problems entirely their own, is my idea of oppression. And as a Muslim, I do appreciate your concern for the country I hold very dear, but I can assure you it can be used in much more constructive ways! Hope you can understand where I’m coming from, and if not, that’s okay too. Diversity is what makes life worth living 🙂 Sending positive vibes your way✨
I’m not judging Saudi Arabia at all. For all I know it may be an excellent society. I’m just pointing to the fact the West keeps criticizing the so called rogue states based on certain conditions that are even more pronounced in Saudi Arabia. I only have an issue with Western hypocrisy.
Thank you so much for the clarification 🙂 I can see what you mean…they are finding faults with these places and broadcasting them through mediums such as the press, news outlets, etc. but then are
completely okay with profiting off of them and engaging with them upon completely candid political terms.
